Dragonflies

These are a couple of weeks old now, but oh well.
100% crop from an 800mm mirror lens:

Manual focus on distant wee dragonflies is remarkably challenging, even with focus-confirm.

A much closer dragonfly, at 300mm with the DA55-300, but still a 100% crop out of the centre of the frame:
Doing a really good job of dragonfly pictures would presumably involve a blind, possibly a blind built over a canoe with outriggers, very long macro lenses, and prayer. But these do not distress me.
