It's between the tree kangaroo and the masked lapwing, so definitely from the Australasian pavilion, and thus likely tropical. Beyond that, I wot me not entire.

it's a melaleuca, indeed endemic to australia. in california i've heard them called "bottlebrush" bush / tree.
